A river burst its banks during heavy rain brought by Storm Harry in Spain.

Footage shows the Riu Ter running swollen and violent as it passed beneath the Pont de l'Aigua at Pont Major in Catalonia on Tuesday.

The Ter appeared dramatically higher than usual, churning with foam, swirling eddies, and debris. Waves and splashes struck the stone supports as the current surged close to the lower sections of the arches.

Spain's meteorological agency AEMET issued red and orange alerts for Tuesday as Harry battered the country with relentless rain, gale-force winds, and 10-metre swells.

The Canary Islands, Catalonia, Valencia, and Ampurdan were at the highest alert level. Coastal flooding and flash-flood risks prompted ports to restrict ferry operations and led some airlines to cancel inter-island flights as a precaution.
