Dramatic footage from A Guarda harbor in Galicia shows massive waves crashing over the breakwaters as stormy seas churn under overcast skies. The video captures the raw force of the Atlantic as Borrasca Ingrid bears down on Spain’s northwest coast.
The storm, the ninth named system of the 2025–2026 season, prompted Spain’s weather agency AEMET to issue red alerts for coastal Galicia, warning of waves reaching up to 10 metres and wind gusts exceeding 100 kilometres per hour. Authorities reported widespread disruption across the region, with hundreds of incidents including rescues, fallen trees and storm-related damage as the powerful system moved through.
