Stretching from Texas to New York, the storm has put nearly 190 million people under weather warnings, including ice buildup and blizzard conditions. More than 10,000 flights were canceled nationwide, while snow and ice knocked out power to nearly 770,000 homes, with Tennessee and Texas among the worst affected.

In the Northeast, where snowfall could reach up to 30 centimeters, New York City Mayor Zohran Mamdani ordered public schools closed on Monday, citing dangerous conditions.

The National Weather Service warned that much colder temperatures will follow the storm, potentially keeping travel hazardous for several days.
