STORYLINE
Organisers of a pig swimming race in China were left bitterly disappointed recently when the porky racers refused to show up at the start line for the final round of the competition.

The races, organised as a tourist attraction in the city of Changsha, Hunan Province, saw ten pigs leaping several metres from a jetty into a lake and then swimming a marked out course.

Organisers had offered a prize to spectators to pick a winner over the three rounds but by the third leg the animals staged a boycott and could be seen running away from the course
