Footage has emerged from the UK of a fitness enthusiast proposing to his girlfriend near the finish line of the Spartan Race 2016, a particularly tough obstacle course.

The video, filmed in Peterborough on September 3, shows the man getting down on one knee next to a fire pit near the finish line.

The crowd cheers and claps when she says "yes".

He later wrote online: "It was love at first sight when I met my girlfriend who loved that I was into OCRs.

"10 months later, I surprised her with a diamond ring and all her closest friends and family at the finish line of our first Spartan Race together."

"She said YES, and then she said AROO," he continued.
