A dramatic video has emerged of two skiers colliding as one trips over an abandoned ski during a race in Val D'Isere, France.

The footage, shot with a helmet mounted camera earlier this month, captures the moment one of the skiers fell after sliding on a discarded ski making the filmer trip over him.

"The race went wrong when we skied over the brow of a hill to find another racer had crashed leaving his ski in the middle of the run," the filmer wrote online.

"This meant me and the racer ahead had to take avoiding action when things went wrong and I skied over the top of him."

On an annual skiing holiday with a group of lads, we took part in a ski cross race in Val D'Isere.
