In Cornwall 80mph storm batters the seafront in Mount;s Bay at high water causing homes to be flooded from Newlyn to Penzance. The harbour wall in Penzance has been breached for the first time in its history. Huge stones were ripped from the sea wall and parts of Penzance promenade where damaged yet again. The seafront road was closed to traffic for hours made impassable by the huge seas and flying rocks. Police warned people to stay indoors as deadly slate tiles were ripped from roofs along the seafront.
