Store Employee Assaulting A Customer In Parking Lot

On Monday, May 30th (Memorial Day), I recorded an assault in the parking lot of Fred Meyer. Two people were vying for the same parking spot. The driver of the Dodge pickup was waiting for another vehicle to back out of an angle parking spot near the front of the parking lot. The driver of the Firebird was waiting for the same spot, but would need to make an illegal left hand turn to park in the spot. The Dodge clearly had the right to the spot. At 0:21, the Firebird quickly finds another parking spot. At 0:41, the Firebird driver (in the white shirt) can be seen approaching the Dodge pickup. At 0:52, the Firebird driver clearly throws a punch through the open window of the pickup, striking the driver in the head. He then continues into the store. I pulled around the corner and confronted the Firebird driver, who stated "Yeah, he almost hit me." He then flipped me the bird and continued on into the store. The police were called to the scene. The Firebird driver was arrested and transported to the county jail. He was charged with harassment.

The Dodge driver is a 70+ year-old war veteran and a customer at Fred Meyer.

The Firebird driver is an employee of Fred Meyer Jewelers who assaulted an elderly war veteran on Memorial Day over a parking space.
