Footage has emerged of a judge taking charge of proceedings at a flooded courthouse in southern China.

In the video, captured in Nanjing on September 25, a court session is being held as normal in the court house, which is flooded.

According to local media, the judge insisted the session be heard as normal so as not to result in any delays.

After two clients reached a settlement, the judge dismissed them and they left the court by canoe.

More than 50 mm of rain fell in less than 24 hours in Jiangsu Province. In some areas, the amount of rainfall exceeded records.
