Typhoon Talim, the fourth to hit China this year, made landfall in the country late on July 17, triggering heavy torrential downpours in many parts of Jiangsu Province from the night of July 16.

Video filmed in the city of Yangzhou in Jiangsu Province on July 17 shows deep floodwater submerging a bus with the water level rising above the passengers' knees and threatening to overflow the seats.

According to real-time data released by the Central Meteorological Observatory, Yangzhou recorded the highest rainfall in the country, with 181.3 mm pouring down by the afternoon of July 17.

The significant rainfall caused urban flooding in the city of Yangzhou, leading to severe waterlogging on the roads.
