Polar bear breakfast.
This polar bear came to see us during breakfast in our tent. Thomas Ulrich and I was retracing Fridtjof Nansens route trough Frans Josef Land, which is one of the least explored areas in the Arctic, one of the few places which still have a healthy population of polar bears. We met about 40 on this three month long expedition. Polar bears are often curios, and when smelling food they come to investigate. This one was scared away with a hand hold flare, and did not come back.
