A video has emerged of firemen in Sichuan Province, China rescuing a cat which had become stuck in an air conditioning unit.

The cat's owner alerted emergency services that her pet had chased a rat into the AC system and was then unable to get out.

One fireman abseiled down the side of the building and walked a long a narrow ledge to where the ginger cat was trapped. He then used a net to scoop the animal up and lift it to safety.

A total of six firemen were involved in the operation last month which took 20 minutes.
