Buy video

Every spring the ice on the Ottawa river melts and creates high water levels with every powerful river waves. This rapid on the Ottawa river is called the Lorne rapid and the wave they are hitting is called the Greyhound Buseater Wave, because it is massive and very powerful. On this day in particular I was kayaking at the wave and decided to fly my drone as a big whitewater rafting trip went by.

This boat hit the wave at the biggest point, the pressure of the water water flexes the boat and the resulting spring sent the the guide flying out of the back of the boat.
