This is often done on whitewater or different degrees of rough water. Dealing with risk and the need for teamwork is often a part of the experience. In Guatemala, there are several rivers where you can practice this sport due to their characteristics and navigability, being one of them the Coyolate River. This river has been deemed as a Category 3 by the International Rules of Rafting, although parts of it could be deemed 4.
