Louie, the Maremma Guardian dog and Chris the 3-week old piglet have struck an adorable friendship in Tauherenikau, New Zealand.

Louie and Chris have become fast playmates on the Wairarapa Eco Farm. As seen in the video, shot on September 23, the two enjoy playing together in the grass, with an added dash of play-fighting. At one point, Louie rolls around in the grass trying to get Chris' attention, and they resume their game.

According to the filmer, Louie takes his role of guardian very seriously and makes sure all the other animals are safe, and is happy to have found a new friend in Chris, who was "the runt of a litter of 13 and needed extra loving."

Louie, our Maremma Guardian dog, normally making sure that all our animals (chickens, sheep and pigs) on our organic farm are safe and where they need to be, has found a new friend in our little piglet Chris. Chris was the runt of a litter of 13 and needed extra loving, so our family took it in. He loves his hot water bottle and now playing with Louie.
