A brazen burglar who stole wedding rings and cash from children's money boxes has been jailed after he was caught staring into a camera lens.

Colin Ellinor, 55, was arrested after footage from two houses was widely shared on Facebook.

Police praised the "key role" social media played in bringing him to justice.

Ellinor used a brick to smash a window and enter a house in Climping, West Sussex on July 20.

Once inside, he stole £3,000 of cash and jewellery - including two wedding rings, a gold and platinum set diamond ring, and cash from children's money boxes.
