This fast-food restaurant has a tree growing through the middle. The Jollibee branch in Manila, Philippines, was built several years ago, but planners did not want to disturb the old tree on the patch of land. Instead they designed the building to have a gap in the roof so the tree can poke through. Inside, the bark is protected by a glass encasement. Diners sit on tables around the tree, which has remained healthy.
