A London Air ambulance has been filmed leaving the South West London area of Mortlake near Richmond following an incident at the station today (November 1).

The helicopter lifted off from Mortlake Green after it had been confirmed that a person had been struck by a moving train on the level crossing.

The filmer said: "Initially I hadn’t seen or heard anything, we were walking back from a play centre and have to walk through the park. Saw a police van blocking the road then the helicopter."

She later added: "Felt sorry for those on the train and platform but selfishly my little one got to see a real helicopter up close."

Police stated that they were not treating the incident as suspicious.
