A dramatic video has emerged of a group of people being chased by an angry elephant as they were going dangerously close to the jumbo in a bid to take a selfie and film the tusker in a forest area in Karnataka, India.
The group was headed for a pilgrimage to Sabarimala, a famous Hindu temple in the neighbouring state of Kerala when they spotted the elephant by the roadside.
They stopped the car and started filming the elephant. In a bid to get a better angle, the group went dangerously close to the elephant munching on shrubs at a striking distance.
Interrupted while having a meal and irritated by the undue attention and noise, the elephant suddenly charged at the group.
The men could be seen hurriedly running towards their car and speed away -- screaming help us! help us!
They started the car and moved a little distance only to spot another elephant standing off the car.
Learning a lesson from their previous experience, the group didn't make noise and stayed calm. Eventually, another vehicle passed through that road even though the elephant stood at a striking distance from the road. On seeing that the tusker didn't attack the other vehicle, they also started their car and quietly left the place.
