A spectacular drone video captured hundreds of empty residential houses on Chengshan Island in the East China Sea.

The clip, shot in Zhoushan City in eastern China’s Zhejiang Province on February 4, shows a large number of abandoned houses on one side of the island.

The houses used to be fishermen's homes in the 1990s, but there was no electricity connected to the residences and transportation was not good.

Therefore, in order to have better educations and more opportunities, local residents moved to bigger cities in recent years.
