Dozens of Navy soldiers from Lantamal Dua Padang along with residents cleaned the Batang Arau river and Muara Padang Port from garbage, especially plastic waste. This action is a form of their participation in efforts to preserve nature, as well as helping the local government clean up the garbage that has been a scourge in the rivers and ports.

To speed up the cleaning, two boats were deployed which took the soldiers to be able to take both floating and immersed plastic waste.

Not only plastic waste, they also take out the Kayi wreck that has been buried in the port.

With this cleanup, it is expected that the Port of Muara Padang, which has been around for hundreds of years, can be one of the reliable tourist destinations, and is able to stop the plastic trash that reaches the sea.
