Cal Fire responded to a vehicle vs semi crash. Arriving crews located a semi truck in the middle of the roadway with major front end damage and a white sedan rolled on it's roof in a field. The sedan sustained major damage in what appears to be a head on crash with the semi. At this moment at least one fatality from the overturned sedan has been confirmed by paramedics on scene. It's unclear if any other parties were in the sedan when the crash occurred. It's unknown at this time if the driver of the semi truck sustained any injuries and if so how severe. Per CAD log, coroner was inquiring if more only one or multiple fatalities were confirmed. The cause of the crash is unknown and under investigation. It's unknown if intoxication or speed were a factor in the crash. Ramona Expressway from Bridge Street to Warren Road will be closed for at least two hours pending the conclusion of the investigation and clearing of the roadway. CHP INDIO CAD LOG N. 00054
