Four people were killed and six injured after a huge blast destroyed a chemical factory in southern China.

The video shot in the city of Yulin on Tuesday (October 15), shows a large cloud of smoke billowing into the sky and a woman can be heard saying: "It is so scary!"

Further aftermath footage shows the buildings that were left wrecked by the blast.

According to local reports, a reactor container with 5-tons of formaldehyde and phenol mixture exploded.

Eight fire engines and 38 firemen were sent on-site to rescue any survivors. Four people were killed, two suffered serious injuries and four had minor injuries.

The case is being investigated and the property loss is being counted.

广西应急管理厅15日介绍，当天11时20分，广西玉林市陆川县北部工业园广西兰科新材料科技有限公司反应釜发生爆炸(未起火)，目前，经现场医护人员确认，事故已造成4人死亡、2人重伤、4人轻伤。搜救工作已结束。

　　广西消防救援总队介绍，接警后，该队玉林支队立即调派城站、新民、陆川共3个中队8辆消防车、38名指战员前往救援，支队全勤指挥部遂警出动。

　　经全力搜救，消防救出2名被困人员并交由现场医护人员救治。在消防救援人员到达现场前，已有8名被困人员被公司工作人员救出并送医。

　　据了解，发生爆炸的部位为树脂合成反应车间内的反应釜，反应釜主要用于甲醛和苯酚合成酚醛树脂，反应釜内原料及半成品储量约5吨左右。

　　目前，爆炸原因及财产损失正在调查统计中。
