These were the shocking scenes in San Bernadino county today (December 13) where a car accident left a fire hydrant sending gallons of water into the air like a geyser.

The collision occurred on Jurupa Ave and Beech Ave, Fontana after two cars smashed into each other because one vehicle was blocking the lanes.

The filmer told Newsflare: "San Bernardino County Fire Department responded to a two-vehicle collision with one into a hydrant.

"Arriving crews located two sports cars with major damage. One vehicle was blocking lanes, the other sheared a hydrant that was spewing a large geyser taller than the business building adjacent to it.

"The water from the hydrant was flooding the intersection.

"The two drivers were transported by American Medical Response with unknown injuries.

"Speed is suspected to be a factor in the crash."
