The Eastern Osprey (Pandion haliaetus cristatus) is a specialist fish eagle, and is quite common in the estuaries and ocean edges in south-western Western Australia. This male Osprey was perched on a dead tree on the edge of Peel Inlet at Coodanup, eating a Yellow-eyed Mullet (Aldrichetta forsteri) that was clutched in his huge talons. When he had finished feeding, he cleaned his beak several times by wiping it on the dead branch.
