Firefighters in southern China rescued a worker who accidentally fell into an elevator shaft from the 29th floor.

The video, filmed in the city of Liupanshui in Guizhou Province on December 22, shows a firefighter tied by safety ropes lowering down the elevator shaft to reach the worker hanging from cables.

The fireman finally reaches the worker while another rescuer can be seen using a key to open the fourth-floor lift doors to bring the worker to safety.

According to reports, the man called an elevator on the 29th floor and stepped into the shaft when the doors opened, not realizing the carriage hadn’t arrived.

The worker was rescued successfully after 20 minutes, reports said.
