Firefighters in northern China rescued a worker buried in an eight-metre-deep concrete storage tank after he accidentally fell in.

The video, filmed in the city of Yan'an in Shaanxi Province on December 28, shows firefighters using their hands to dig out the man.

According to reports, the firemen lowered down into the deep tank via a rescue ladder and first used shovels and then their hands to remove the concrete.

After an hour, the worker was rescued successfully and taken to hospital.

12月28日16时许，陕西省延安市安塞区碟子沟声威水泥厂，一名工人不慎掉进了储存水泥的罐井当中，而当延安消防安塞中队赶到现场时发现，这储存水泥的罐井相当的大，深约8米，消防救援人员从进口下到井中发现，这名工人被大量水泥粉埋住了半个身子，动弹不得，救援难度非常大。
由于被埋工人周围，有大量的水泥粉，随时有坍塌下来的可能性，消防救援人员在做好个人防护后，利用救生软梯深入到井底进行救援，他们先开始用铁锨进行挖掘，随后发现操作空间不足后，立即改用手进行刨挖，旁边几名工人上前帮忙一起挖掘。
经过1个小时的处置，成功救出被困人员，送往了医院。
