Zoo directors dressed as cuddly animals to entertain children during the national 'Children's Day' in Thailand.

Schoolchildren joined the event at the Chiang Mai zoo, northern Thailand last Friday (10/01) afternoon.

The children were welcomed by animal mascots and received a gift from the zoo director Wutthichai Muangman, who was dressed in a Spiderman suit.

The friendly director said the zoo prepared 2,000 presents for the children visiting the zoo over the weekend.

He said: "The event today is the prelude for the weekend event. We prepared thousands of presents and snacks to give to the children for the Children day."

The zoo also spoke to children about the ongoing bushfires in Australia to raise awareness about protecting the environment.
