Residents at a condominium next to a hospital in the Philippines simultaneously clapped on their balconies to show gratitude to the health workers on duty.

Dr Ivan Solis, from the Adventist Medical Center in Pasay City, said the residents took to their balconies to cheer for the workers of the hospital, which is currently treating Covid-19 coronavirus patients.

He said: "The residents cheered for a good 12 minutes. Someday, may we all find ourselves together cheering the end of this ordeal."

The heartwarming video was taken in the Metro Manila capital area on April 1 as medics fight the spread of the pandemic and care for victims. Large parts of the country are under curfew and community lock down, with residents having to stay at home.
