Residents in Leeds, England cheer on NHS workers on Thursday evening (March 26).

A residential area near to Leeds City Centre was filled with joy and cheer this evening (Thursday 26th March)
when 100's of residents took to their balconies to fill the quiet night with rapturous applause.
Residents of Leeds Dock gave it their all, by shouting,whistling, clapping, banging objects together and basically just making as much noise as possible. Due to the country being in lock down, there were no regular noise pollution from passing traffic or aircraft, which made the applause & cheers echo around the Dock located next to the Royal Armouries.
'Clap For Our Carers' started as an idea on social media,to get the British public showing their support for our NHS & carers who are working tirelessly hard in these unprecidented times during the Corona Virus outbreak.
The message asked the nation to stand at their doors or balconies at 8pm on Thursday 26th March and clap. This went viral on social media & was also advertised on TV & Radio, to gain maximum support and respect.
