A black swarm of insects took over a married couple’s house in Thailand after a heavy downpour, forcing them to sleep outside.

Jedsada Paibong, 39, said hundreds of thousands of beetles appeared from nowhere and gathered in his two-storey home in Uthai Thani province on a rainy Saturday night.

Footage shows how the bugs attached themselves to the walls, floors, and ceilings on both floors of the property.

Jedsada and his wife tried to sweep the uncontrollable swarms of insects away and even sprayed insecticides in an attempt to save their home, but to no avail. The insects survived and continued to fill the rooms.

Disgusted by the smell of the beetles, Jedsada and his wife gave up and were forced to lay a mattress outside of their home to sleep for the night.

Jedsada said: ''There was a big rain storm outside then about an hour after it stopped, millions of bugs starting coming into our home. They were disgusting and smelled terrible. I had to sleep outside with my wife.

The husband said he had returned to Uthai Thani after his job in Bangkok was suspended due to the coronavirus. He complained that he was now losing his home to insects as well as losing his hob.

Jedsada begged the authorities to help him to get rid of the insects and help him reclaim his house.
