At least two men had a close shave after a leopard strayed into a neighbourhood and attacked them in southern India's Telangana.

The incident, which was captured on CCTV camera, took place in the Katedan industrial area of Hyderabad city on May 14.

Visuals showed the two men running for their lives after spotting the leopard inching close.

While one of the men manages to climb inside a truck, the other one gets attacked by the leopard.

The predator is seen attacking the man's legs and dragging him.

Fortunately, it lets go as the man successfully gets inside the truck and shuts the door.

Meanwhile, a pack of dogs arrives at the scene after seeing the leopard.

A tense standoff ensues between the two parties.

While the dogs try to attack the leopard, the latter braves its opposition and manages to scare them off.

With the dogs out of its sight, the leopard slowly moves towards the truck and disappears from the frame.

When contacted, Shamshabad Deputy Commissioner of Police N Prakash Reddy told Newslions Media Network that the leopard was sighted near the Himayat Sagar forest area and had entered the city from there.

The cop said the leopard was first sighted sleeping on one side of a highway near the Katedan underbridge at Mailardevpally of Rajendranagar in Hyderabad.

"The leopard left the place due to noises made by the public. After the incident near the truck, it went to a farmhouse," Reddy said.
