Police officers feed rare Steller sea lion found on north Chinese coast
Police officer in China fed a Steller sea lion, a near-threatened species, with fish after spotting it on the coast of northern China on July 13.
The rare sighting video, filmed in the city of Dandong in Liaoning Province, shows a more than one-metre-long and 150-kilogram-weight Steller sea lion laid on the stones at the coast.
Police officers were seen using fish they bought to feed the sea lion.
The Steller sea lion is also known as Steller's sea lion and northern sea lion. It is the largest of the eared seals.
The Steller sea lion landed ashore during a high tide, prompting Local police has set up the police cordon line to protect it and contacted the experts to rescue it.
The video was provided by local media with permission.
