ATM robbery bid foiled as man fails to open cash box in southern India
An unidentified man who attempted to rob cash from an ATM kiosk, however, failed miserably in southern India's Telangana.
The incident took place at Canara Bank ATM in Nacharam on August 12.
The CCTV footage shows the unmasked miscreant entering the ATM early morning and using some tools to open the kiosk.
After several attempts, he failed to breach the machine, the bank authorities got an alert through the security sensors attached to the machine.
According to reports, the bank officials alerted the police officials.
Sources suggest by the time the police arrived, the accused had given up on stealing the cash and had already left the place.
However, the man had damaged the teller machine in the process of the failed robbery.
According to Nacharam police inspector, T Kiran Kumar, the miscreant has been apprehended and is currently in jail.
Further investigation is ongoing.
