Steam train runs for the Queen Mother of Thailand's birthday

Hundreds of Thai people at Hualampong station celebrate their Queen Mother's eighty-eighth birthday by taking a steam train excursion from Bangkok to Chachoengsao. A number of celebrities dress in the Siamese style introduced by King Rama V, who commissioned the railway. HM Queen Sirikit is in poor health. She is the mother of the present king and her birthday is mothers day in Thailand.
The Pacific locomotives were manufactured in Japan by Nippon Sharyo, number 824 in 1949 and number 850 in 1950.
