Roads were flooded this morning (October 17) after heavy rain poured throughout the night in Bangkok, Thailand.

Footage shows drivers and motorcycle riders battling through the deluge in the Bang Khae district of the Thai capital.

There was heavy rain and thunderstorms throughout the night after downpours started on Friday evening.

The Thai Meteorological Department (TMD) said the country would experience wet weather over the coming days. They said a low-pressure cell east of the Philippines had intensified into a Category Two tropical depression which would move towards Thailand.

Forecasters believe the depression will strengthen into a Category Three tropical storm before making landfall in the central region of Vietnam.
Rains are expected in Thailand in the central, north, northeast and the eastern regions.
