A brother and sister, aged 11 and 14, transformed their grandmother's old car into a DIY movie theatre with the help of their science teacher dad.

Mikalah and Samuel Strickling removed the seats, seatbelts, carpets, matting and other fittings from the car before making a wooden frame for a mattress.

The duo then added a mattress and TV they found on the side of the road into the vehicle. They decorated their makeshift theatre using party lights and their covers.

Dad Jacob Strickling told Newsflare: "The kids have had a few nights of watching movies in the car with chips, popcorns and lollies and then spending the night sleeping in the car.

"Mikalah has even had a few nights with her friends in the car for sleepovers."

Australian teenager, Mikalah Strickling aged 14 asked her grandmother if she could have her car (an old Toyota Corolla) when she had finished driving it.
Withe the help of her little brother Samuel (Aged 11) they removed all the bolts for the seats and took all the seats out. They then removed all the seatbelts, carpets, matting and other fittings.
Using scrap from some local kerbside junkpiles they made a wooden frame for a mattress. Even the mattress was from the side of the road and needed modifications in order to fit in the car.
Mikalah added a television she found on the side of the road as well! To decorate it they used party lights, lp records and their covers.
Finally colourful linen was added.
The kids have had a few nights of watching movies in the car with chips, popcorns and lollies and then spending the night sleeping in the car. Mikalah has even had a few nights with her friends in the car for sleepovers.
