Pedestrian Killed and Motorist Injured in Brutal Freeway Crash

RIALTO, CALIFORNIA - Rialto Fire Department responded to reports of a solo vehicle crash on the freeway involving a pedestrian on the eastbound I-210 near Ayala Ave. Arriving crews located a sedan with major damage blocking lanes and the remains of a victim strung about the roadway about 1 mile away from the crash and in the interior of the involved vehicle. The driver was transported to a local hospital in unknown condition. CHP requested a hard closure of the 210 pending the conclusion of the investigation and clearing of the roadway. The cause of the crash is unknown at this time. It's unknown if alcohol or speed were factors in the crash. A SIG alert of 2 hours has been issued for all lanes of the eastbound 210 from Alder to Ayala.
