A video has emerged of an enormous queue outside a new Burger King restaurant in Lille, France on Sunday.

In the footage, captured by a passer-by, hundreds of fast food fans can be seen waiting patiently in a long line, despite freezing weather conditions.

The first 6,000 customers to the restaurant received a free meal and, according to local reports, people began queuing from 3:00pm (local time) ahead of the giveaway party, which ran from 5:00pm until 10:00pm.

The American fast food giant has re-opened stores in various locations around France after famously retreating from the country in 1997 complaining of poor sales.
