Category 5 Hurricane Iota arrived in Central America on Monday (November 16), bringing gusty winds and heavy rains to the area.

Footage by @yader29 shows fierce weather conditions in Puerto Cabezas, Nicaragua, at 8:38 pm on Monday.

Hurricane Iota also brought strong winds and rains to the Colombian island of San Andrés in the Caribbean Sea, shown in this clip by @jenssen_anna from early Monday morning at 3:09 am.

Category 5 Hurricane Iota has arrived at the Caribbean coast of Nicaragua on Monday night. It brought gusty winds and heavy rains to the area. Hurricane Iota is expected to leave severe damages to the country. Landslides might happen to some areas while it would also cause flooding issues. And, the storm surge could possibly go up 15 to 20 feet above normal tides.

Hurricane Iota brought strong winds and heavy rains to the Colombian island of San Andrés in the Caribbean Sea early Monday, November 16.

The storm in the western Caribbean intensified into a Category 4 as it moves toward the eastern coastline of Central America.

It is expected to make landfall late Monday night into early Tuesday morning along the coast of northern Nicaragua.
