An elephant was part of a cultural procession of folk artists, which was held as part of Hampi Utsav in Karnataka on November 13. As it was very hot the elephant which had walked for a long distance got very thirsty. It saw a tractor which was carrying a water tanker and was driving slowly as there was a procession on the road. Seeing water spilling over from the tanker, the elephant went to the tractor, blocked its way and started drinking water with its trunk. The driver and the procession artists waited for the elephant to quench its thirst. The elephant owned by Ujjaini religious monastery was familiar with tractors carrying water and knew what to do when it was thirsty.
