This was the moment a 45-year-old woman from Mumbai was rescued by the authorities after she fell from a bridge on November 29.

Footage shows the woman being brought towards a rescue boat with the help of a man and a lifebuoy.

The incident took place along Vashi Bridge, which connects Mumbai to Navi Mumbai.

Senior Inspector Sanjeev Dhumal said that a rescue team was sent after the control room received a message about the lady drowning.

Police took help from a local fisherman Mahesh Sutar, who provided his boat for the safe rescue.

The lady was identified as Laxmidas Katarmal and was promptly taken to the Municipal Medical Hospital Airoli.

She claimed she was meeting her daughter along the bridge and upon feeling "giddy" she lost her balance and went over the edge.
