Music boat leads inspirational light tour through Amsterdam canals
Amsterdam house boat owners took the initiative of an alternative light tour through the canals, with the official Amsterdam Light Festival not going ahead this year, due to corona. The boat owners decorated their boats with lights, candles and took fire pits, and toured the canals at night. Twenty boats sailed out. The starting point was kept secret, to avoid people gathering, obeying to the corona rules.
Along the way, the boat owners and residents of Amsterdam wished each other happy New year. A Dutch men witnessing the procession, said 'he would not have wanted to miss the corona period, because of happenings like this.'
