This week a brand new riverside boardwalk was opened up to the public in Amsterdam. It's located at the IJ-river, behind the central station. The first residents of the city, and tourists, took their first, curious steps on it. The boardwalk gives a view of the water that was the old harbor of Amsterdam in the 17the century, where Rembrandt painted. Now it's the post modern part of the city. The new boulevard also holds a bicycle storage for 4000 bikes, as part of the modernisation of the Amsterdam Central train station area. The view holds the new sky line on the north part of the city, including the 'Adam tower'. At night the boardwalk is lit up.
