Smoke rose up from a sea due to extremely cold weather in eastern China's Qingdao City on January 7.

The phenomenon is called Hai Hao locally, which occurs when there is a temperature difference and condensation nucleus.

The lowest temperature in Qingdao City reached -15.9 degrees Celsius, creating a new record.

Since the temperature on the sea was higher than that in the air, the evaporating seawater froze into ice crystals.

The video was provided by local media with permission.
