HUGE RAW REALTIME NORTHERN LIGHTS SWEDEN OCTOBER 2020

Buy video

Huge intense northern lights - aurora borealis - event filmed in realtime in northern Sweden on october 23rd , 2020 late evening.

location in a forest a few miles north of Porjus, Sweden.
By pure coincidence it happened to be just one or two miles north of the 1944 crash site of Easy Elsie Lancaster.

no moonlight, dark night, suddenly the northern lights appeared and grew big and bright.

filmed in realtime video at 25 fps with Sony a7s and Sigma 16 f/1.4 lens.

first handheld , then put camera on car roof pointing upwards so I could operate other cameras. At end again handheld, and even a few scenes in fullframe mode ( Sigma 16mm f/1.4 is normally meant for aps-c crop sensor ).

I was on roadtrip from Switzerland to northern Sweden to hunt northern lights and chose my nightly target day-by-day based on last-available weather and cloud forecast, found clear skies every night and saw a lot of northern lights... this was the best event of a week's aurora hunting.

original video footage edited in Sony Movie Studio Platinum 13 to reduce over-saturated colours.... edited to look as realistic as it looked to my own eyes.
