Bizarre Slimy Creature Turns Out To Be One Of World's Most Invasive Species
This is the nauseating moment a bizarre slimy creature was found crawling in a garden in Thailand.
The creature looked almost like a leech but had a shiny body and is flat. Onlooker Kar Okid said he found the weird-looking worm after heavy rain in his garden in Songkhla province in the south of the country.
The odd-looking life form turned out to be a New Guinea flatworm, listed in the top 100 worst invasive species by the International Union for Conservation of Nature.
New Guinea flatworm is a top predator of land slugs and snails, posing a major threat to biodiversity. Authorities had also urged people to wash their hands after getting in contact with the worm.
