A creepy "mind-controlling" horsehair worm was spotted writhing on a homeowner's floor in Myanmar.

Footage shows the nematode twisting its long body into knots while coiling along the cement floor at the home in Yangon on September 15.

Horsehair worms are also called Gordian worms, and are normally found near water or wet regions.

They proliferate by burrowing into insects like crickets as larvae, growing inside the unfortunate host's gut before compelling it to plunge into the water. Once under the surface, they then emerge through their unwilling vessel's orifices as adult worms.

Though horrifying, horsehair worms are harmless to humans.
