2 women walking their dogs, braced themselves for an icy stroll this morning (31st January) when they were faced with a lengthy detour or solider on through a flooded section of road. The 2 women who carried their pooches across, can be seen laughing at one another, when the ice cold water breached their wellington boots. The women then proceded to take selfies during the paddle and then can be seen emptying their wellies. Newton Lane in Allerton Bywater became flooded on 20th January when the River Aire nearby burst it's banks causing flooding to local roads. The river burst it's banks when Storm Christoph brought heavy rain to many parts of the UK. The road is still submerged in at least 18 inches of water nearly 2 weeks after the flooding occurred.
