Locals in central Vietnam took part in a bizarre rescue on Friday (February 26) of a cow that fell into a river after fainting.

Footage showed residents of Nghe An province hauling the hefty animal onto the banks of the river where it regained consciousness.

The cow was taken home to its owner, apparently unharmed by the ordeal.

A cow crashed into a river in Nghe An province, Central Vietnam (on February 26). After struggling underwater, the cow was tired, leading to fainting. People joined forces to use ropes to pull the cow to the shore. After getting ashore, the cow still fainted from fatigue. After a while, the cow regained consciousness and got up to walk again.

The cow, after being rescued, was taken home to take care of it by its owner.
